Tomorrow will surely be better. Won't it?

This is about looking into the future, but also looking into the past. Primarily at one's youth.
We've all been there. You can relate to this short video I made below.

She disappeared 25 years ago.... now found alive. (Plus wild Mardi Gras Story!)

Hey,

How are you doing?
Something very different from me. A change in direction.

I've began making TikTok videos, experimenting if you like. They're short, fairly easy and fun to make. And they get views. Unlike my video poems, which take a lot of work and get literally nothing.
So it's time to change. Here's a couple of recent ones.

Mum found alive after 25 years!

She was recently charged with a DUI after she was found. It was an outstanding warrant from 2001. Hence the old/new photo comparison.

This is a personal and unusual story that happened to me

in the 90's during my first Mardi Gras event.

My last video poem, Music of the Masses. Just 5 views, but not everyone has taste!
Still, the amount of work involved means I'm not likely to make any more.
I have 7 'in the bank' then will retire them.

Nothing lasts forever. It's just gone 15 years since I started. Jan 18, 2011.
Here's the first one; When Ego comes to Town

Thank you for being a part of this enterprise, whether youve been here
a long time, or a short one.

Someone must pay the price.

Will it be you?

What are your thoughts? Do you agree?

I'm not sure how many more of these Video Poems I'll make. I make quick disposable videos for TikTok that get so many more views. These are hard to make. People just don't care about art. About quality. They want a quick hit. Seconds worth.

I have a few 'in the bank' ready to go and many more voiceovers recorded but I'm not sure I'll turn those voiceovers into visuals. I can't upload them to TikTok either. Those voiceovers may never see the light of day. There's dozens.

AI generated for this post.
My idea but 'I didn't create it!'

So sick of seeing music videos on YouTube
that doesn't specify it's AI. These 'artists' are delibrately
trying to mislead people. They're huge egos. Arseholes!

In any regard, there are eight more videos like these complete. Then I may retire them. We shall see.

Thank you for watching. I do appreciate it, so much. Especially if you've been around for years. I started making Video Poetry in 2011. That's 15 years. Nothing lasts forever. And my work down through the decades has definitely been in 'periods'. The short films. The music videos. The video poems. The poetry. The short stories. The novels. Now it's fucking TikToks haha. Sign O The Times.

Here's one of those shitty disposable videos. Doctor Google. So easy to make.

Until next time,

Peace

Anthony

All These Things We Leave Behind - Lost Video, Found after 14 years!

The Weight of Passing Things

Hi,

I made this video 14 years ago. I came across the location where I filmed it, which is now vacant. Still. As you can see in the video, the building had already been long abandoned in 2012.

So I thought of this video, went looking and realised I had never uploaded it. I was making a few videos then, and was the primary carer of my daughter who was only 16 months then. And so it's remained unseen all this time. The poem also, has never been published before.

Now, it's for you.

All These Things We Leave Behind

A Video Poem

What did you think?
Has my style changed at all?

Text below.

Never published until now.

All these things

9/1/12

All these things

Whose time has come to pass

Whether they were ready or not

Forever suddenly has an end

Infinity has become finite

The hinges have rusted

Concrete shattered

No one to pick up the pieces

Fragments forgotten

Easier to begin again

Than to reconnect.

Yesteryear with pages Torn

Bound by faded mustard covers

The walls are coming down

Exposing interiors

Revealing frailties.

The Edges are frayed

The beautiful now Withered

Prospering weeds

Obscuring the history

Of a world owned by youth

Now decaying and no longer meaningful

Their escapades lost to time

A broken cross on the earth

Before the demise has come to pass.

It’s just another symbol

Of the way we treat

Those who do not measure up anymore

The unsubstantial, the declining

And the vulnerable

And while you turn your cheek

To more pristine prospects

Remember

That your turn is coming.

From memory, this was a case of the video being shot first and the poem was written around it. It was all done at the same time, January, 2012.

How did this make you feel?

Has my work changed over the years?

I would really appreciate your opinion. On any of it!

Thank you so much for sticking around. I appreciate you!

Some are so judgmental

Oh yeah, smart ass? Well, how about this!

AI for this post

It's very easy, particularly in the online world, to dismiss others. To make sweeping statements. Ignore the grey areas. The complexities that come with every situation. Blow one's trumpet and promote simple ideologies.

All summed up in this short video (made in '22) from one of my poems, written way back in 2014, yet more relevant now.

My writing (and directing) career never took off the way I'd hoped. (Dreamt of for decades, since childhood).

The below quote is something I need to remember. I gave it all (I was capable of). In retrospect, I probably didn't have the confidence that others have and didn't push it as hard as some would. I emailed, submitted, rang etc but bravado can get you in the door, even with little to no talent. Seen it many times.

Still, I had some successes. Many stories and poems were published and some books too, though the novels I had to do myself. (A lot remains unpublished and perhaps, never will be).    The point is, I have a body of work to say, I was here.

OMG The Outrage! (A Video)

Everyone is bigoted!

Things seemed to have turned again. It's the inevitable backlash. People could only tolerate so much outrage. Especially while pumping out their own form of discrimination.

Really, I should have put this out ten years when it would have had more impact. But then I would have been branded a bigot for questioning it. I guess that's the point.

There was no justification for the hate then. And there's no justification for what we're seeing now. Cancellations and assassinations.

Good news is that I haven't had a drink for a year. Almost to the day.

Bad news is that poor mental health (intense anxiety) just made it too difficult to drink. Last time I tried it, I became sick. Probably for the best. It would give me relief and fun for a night and then make me depressed for a couple of days.

You may be able to relate and certainly, the world is littered with them (us).

Do you have a crutch? We all have our coping mechanisms. What do you use to get through difficult situations?

A new way out of Anxiety and Depression - A Hidden Exit. A Important Video that may help someone.

A Hidden Exit

Based on personal experiences.

ie learning shit the hard way.

Rather than go into textual detail, it's simpler if you watch this short YouTube video.

I hope it helps you. It works! But you have to work at it. Daily.

I'm still working at it. It's an hour by hour process. And often I fail. It's hard not to trust your own feelings and thoughts especially if they're automatic and persistent. Which mine are, but that's what you have to do.

It's essentially about neuroplasticity. It is possible to alter your brain. It's not easy. A work in progress. Stress comes along which can send you back. Your own brain can try to trick you and send you backwards. It wants you to be anxious, to protect you from danger. It wants you to be depressed. To prove that the world is against you and that you are worthless. None of these things are true. Acknowledge the feelings as theyre almost impossible to stop but keep talking yourself up. Keep going. The alternative is not an option you want.

In time, they lose their power and the world shifts. Suddenly, you're more free. Your mind is not your jailor. It's a slow process. But it works. Just keep at it.

Artist unknown.  Appears to be linked to Fine Art America

Now, to follow my own advice. As I said in the video, I've gone backwards somewhat. Which means I need to do this more.

I'm so glad I wrote this when I was feeling good and made this video because now I use it for inspiration. Because I need it. Desperately. And others will too. Please share it. I think it's a message worth sharing.

A Man in Paradise is determined to end it all - A True Story

Tropical Conviction

It really was Paradise. White sandy beaches. Crystal clear ocean. Palm trees. Sparsely populated. Barely any tourists, at least not where I was staying. And yet, this man had a particular agenda at odds with the serene surrounds. He was set, to hasten his own destiny.

Are you Waiting in Vain?

I want to hear what you have to say. Are you the same?

Searching for fulfilment, waiting for destiny to take you?

Or are our stories mere tales, without a satisfying ending?

Our journey is limited. Is it preordained? Tracks Disappearing - A Video

Hey,

How's your week been?

Happy Pride Month!   (Maybe one of these days, I'll out myself and join the Parade.)

It's also Men's Mental Health Month. Did not know that.
(Personally, I think a month to any group is pushing the friendship a little. Take a week and make the most of it. Less chances of clashing.)

I've got a new video for you. It's called...

Tracks Disappearing

Our journey is limited. Is it preordained?

Can there be another way?

This new video is less than 90 secs. Give it a whirl and let me know your thoughts.

If interested, my mental health has declined in the past 10 days, but I'm still doing better than I was. I still have faith. Just have to hang on and keep working at it. It's so hard to not trust your own thoughts and feelings. But it's what I have to do. I can't go back to how I was.

I watched a fascinating little documentary last night about a 60's folk/blues/country singer, Karen Dalton. Nick Cave speaks highly of her. Like many creatives, she could create art from life but struggled to live in it. I can always relate to people like that. The sensitive ones seem to struggle the most. Never achieved fame, though she could have. She didn't want it. Only released two albums. She died in poverty in 1993 aged 55. A very unique voice. Look her up on YouTube.

Here's one for you.
