A 91 yo's journey to her deserted childhood homes

My Grandmother Nell, (born 1926) was brought up in a farming environment in country Victoria, Australia.

We spent a day going to see her first house and then to a farm where her grandmother, and later Uncle and Aunty lived. Both houses are abandoned now.
Complete with a few old photos to give you a fuller historical context.

It was my first time to these places. It turned out to be quite a moving and interesting experience.
If you don't want to watch it all, there's a nice photo montage at 14 min set to music. But Irecommend you do. There's some interesting stories and beautiful music along the way.

  1. You did a beautiful job with this, Anthony. I can't get over how lucky you and your Grandma are to have each other. This is a priceless sign of that.

    1. Thank you Robyn We are lucky and we both know it. Enjoyed so much those precious few days with her, as alas, I don't see her often as we live far apart. But we've always been close. She took me to see my first movie at 5. Pinocchio.
