In fact, they are really behind the 8 ball in terms of their layouts etc. Its frustrating trying to be creative with their posting options.

I was the same as you, copying alot of cassettes. My friend and I used to buy them and them copy and swap - I spent all of my money on records and tapes, which wasnt much, but also copied. Nothing much has changed.
Things are changing - there are more decent options now, but they've been so slow to the party - ie renting digital movies at home (still too expensive) and taking full advantage of online capabilities.
The net for me has opened my ears to a lot of bands I never would have invested in previously. I used to buy albums based on reviews - anyway, I'm conscientious so try to support bands and buy where i can, and I never ever download Australian bands or films. They need our support. Anthony J. The guy basically contradicts his own argument, he says that they shouldn't go after the users/abusers - they should go after the distributers, but than he says as soon as they close down one distributor, another one opens. When I was into music, way back then, we used cassettes to copy albums off friends. Most of my music collection was copied cassettes. If my friends didn't have the album I wanted, then I doubt if I would have bought it as I didn't have the money. But if I copied an album I really liked, I might end up going to the see the band and buying their next album. So it is six of one and half a dozen of the other for me. Obviously, if you have plenty of money, you should buy the CD.
